School_meals9 February 2024Applying for Free School Meal VouchersWe've received numerous inquiries about Free School Meals, and we'd like to clarify the process for you. In Newham, all children primary schools receive Free School Meals, which are provided and funded by the Local Authority. This provision is a fortunate one for our children, as in some areas, families have to pay for such meals. For families who apply for Free School Meals online and meet the eligibility criteria, additional funding is allocated to the school. This additional funding allows us to provide eligible families with vouchers for the holiday period. It's important to note that not all families who apply are eligible. The school does not determine eligibility criteria; rather, we receive a final list from the authorities indicating who is and who isn't eligible, without specific reasons provided. If you haven't already applied for Free School Meals and believe your family may be eligible, we encourage you to apply through the following link: https://www.newham.gov.uk/schools-education/free-school-meals/2
